NEW DELHI, INDIA — In a significant step towards strengthening employment opportunities for the youth, the Ministry of Labour and Employment signed a key Memorandum of Understanding with private platforms Porter and Gigin, aiming to expand the reach and efficiency of the National Career Service portal.
The agreement was formalized in the presence of Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, who emphasized the growing importance of digital platforms in connecting job seekers with employers across the country.
Addressing the occasion, Mandaviya expressed satisfaction over the expanding footprint of the National Career Service portal. He stated that it is crucial in today’s time to provide the youth of the country with a reliable and accessible platform where they can explore job opportunities aligned with their skills and qualifications. He highlighted that the portal was created with the core objective of bridging the gap between job seekers and employers in an increasingly competitive employment landscape.
The minister further noted that the integration of the portal with the ‘My Bharat’ platform has significantly enhanced its reach. With a membership base exceeding 2 crore users, the combined ecosystem is expected to provide a more dynamic and responsive employment network for young individuals across India. This integration allows for better mapping of opportunities and ensures that candidates can find roles suited to their specific skill sets.
In addition to user growth, Mandaviya pointed out that the platform has witnessed substantial participation from employers as well. As of now, more than 59 lakh establishments have been integrated with the National Career Service portal, reflecting strong industry engagement and trust in the system. This wide network is expected to generate diverse employment opportunities across sectors and regions.
The collaboration with Porter and Gigin is being seen as a strategic move to further enhance last-mile connectivity and improve job matching efficiency. By leveraging technology and private sector expertise, the initiative aims to streamline the hiring process and make employment services more accessible to a broader population.
The development underscores the government’s focus on digital transformation in the employment sector, positioning the National Career Service portal as a central hub for job creation, skill alignment, and workforce empowerment in India.
