Global economist Frank-Jürgen Richter praised India’s economic reforms and technological ambitions, stating that the country is making significant progress in improving the business environment and positioning itself as a future leader in artificial intelligence.

Speaking in Delhi, Frank-Jürgen Richter said that since the current government came to power, there have been noticeable improvements in reducing bureaucratic hurdles and corruption. He highlighted that “red tape” has decreased considerably, making it easier for businesses to operate and expand.

He emphasized that the reduction in corruption and administrative delays is a very positive change for setting up businesses in India.

Richter also encouraged India to continue welcoming foreign investment and maintain an open economic approach. He suggested that the country should avoid protectionist policies and instead focus on creating a business friendly environment that attracts global investors.

He stated that India should continue to promote Foreign Direct Investment and adopt policies that support openness and global integration.

In addition to economic reforms, Richter spoke about India’s growing role in the field of artificial intelligence. Referring to the recent AI Impact Summit held in Delhi in February, he noted that the event highlighted India’s ambitions in emerging technologies.

He mentioned that Narendra Modi made a strong statement during the summit, expressing the vision of making India an AI superpower in the future. According to Richter, this vision aligns with global technological trends.

He pointed out that currently the United States and China are leading in AI, but India is moving in a similar direction and has the potential to emerge as a major player.

Richter explained that India is increasingly focusing on applying artificial intelligence in manufacturing and industrial processes. He said that the country aims to become an Industry 4.0 superpower, where AI plays a central role in driving innovation, efficiency, and productivity.

He highlighted that India’s push towards integrating AI into manufacturing reflects its ambition to lead in next generation industrial development.

The remarks underline growing international recognition of India’s economic and technological trajectory. As the country continues to invest in digital infrastructure and innovation, experts believe it has the potential to strengthen its position in the global economy.

With a focus on business reforms, foreign investment, and advanced technologies like AI, India is being seen as an emerging force in shaping the future of global industry and innovation.
