New Delhi, Delhi, India
In a significant development focused on regional growth and transformation, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and presented a comprehensive development roadmap under the initiative titled ‘Bastar 2.0’.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister outlined an ambitious blueprint aimed at accelerating progress in the Bastar region, which has long been a focus area for infrastructure development and socio-economic upliftment. The plan envisions a holistic transformation, with emphasis on improving connectivity, creating employment opportunities, and ensuring access to essential services.
Vishnu Deo Sai stated that ‘Bastar 2.0’ will mark the beginning of a new era of development, bringing tangible changes to the lives of people in the region. The initiative is designed to address longstanding challenges while unlocking the area’s potential through focused governance and targeted interventions.
“Through this initiative, a new chapter of development, employment, and basic amenities will commence in Bastar,” the Chief Minister said, expressing confidence in the project’s impact.
The meeting also included a formal invitation extended by Sai to the Prime Minister to visit Bastar after the monsoon season. Such a visit, if it materializes, is expected to further highlight the government’s focus on the region and potentially accelerate the rollout of development projects.
The Bastar region, known for its rich natural resources and cultural heritage, has also faced developmental challenges over the years. The proposed initiative aims to bridge these gaps and integrate the region more closely with broader state and national growth trajectories.
The presentation of the ‘Bastar 2.0’ vision signals a renewed push by the Chhattisgarh government to prioritize inclusive development and bring lasting change to one of its most crucial regions.
