New Delhi, Delhi, India

In a major urban development initiative aimed at improving public spaces, the Delhi government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with leading corporate groups including Dalmia Group, Godrej Industries, and the EaseMyTrip Foundation to revamp underutilized areas across the city.

Under this agreement, empty spaces beneath six flyovers and along key footpaths in Delhi will be transformed into clean, aesthetically appealing, and functional zones, marking a significant step toward urban beautification and better land utilization.

The project aims not only to enhance the visual appeal of the city but also to create spaces that can serve public purposes, improving accessibility and safety in areas that are often neglected. Authorities believe that such initiatives will contribute to a more organized and citizen-friendly urban environment.

A key highlight of the initiative is the proposed cultural and thematic transformation of Hanuman Setu. As part of the project, depictions of Lord Shri Ram along with messages from the Ramayana will be showcased, adding a spiritual and cultural dimension to the redevelopment effort.

The initiative reflects a growing trend of public-private partnerships in urban development, where government bodies collaborate with private organizations to bring efficiency, creativity, and resources into civic projects. By involving established corporate entities, the project is expected to ensure timely execution and high-quality outcomes.

Officials indicated that the transformation of these spaces will focus on cleanliness, landscaping, and innovative design, making them more engaging and beneficial for residents and commuters alike.

This MoU marks a significant step toward reimagining Delhi’s urban landscape, combining infrastructure improvement with cultural expression, and turning overlooked spaces into vibrant public assets.
