In a coordinated effort to strengthen infrastructure and preparedness for upcoming seasonal challenges, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conducted a joint inspection at Vasudev Ghat in the national capital.

The inspection focused on reviewing key aspects such as boat operations and the condition of the iron bridge, with authorities aiming to ensure safety and efficiency ahead of the summer and monsoon seasons.

Speaking during the visit, Sandhu emphasized a unified administrative approach. “We are working with a whole of Delhi administration approach,” he said, highlighting the importance of coordination among different departments to address infrastructural and environmental challenges.

He further noted that the purpose of the inspection was to identify potential issues that could arise during extreme weather conditions. “We are here to assess the challenges for the summer and rainy seasons,” he stated, underlining the proactive stance of the administration.

The Lieutenant Governor also assured that such inspections would be a continuous process involving both the LG office and the Chief Minister. “The CM and I will always continue to conduct inspections,” he added, signaling sustained monitoring and oversight.

While acknowledging that large-scale transformations may take time, Sandhu stressed the importance of gradual improvements. “We hope that if not revolutionary, then incremental changes will keep happening,” he remarked, indicating a focus on steady progress.

The joint inspection reflects an effort to enhance governance through collaboration, particularly in areas prone to seasonal stress such as water bodies and transport infrastructure.

The initiative underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring safety, improving public facilities, and maintaining infrastructure through consistent evaluation and coordinated action.
